Pitch Memo

I was amazed with how creative the entire class' pitches were. No one seemed to have the same idea, and we all came up with great tactics to market each idea. But one that really stood out to me in terms of creativity was Ramya's Desi Youth Rising.
Before her pitch, I did not know what the Desi Youth was, I had never heard of it, and I think that was what made her idea so on point. She pointed out that there was no media channel for the Desi Youth (Southern Asian Americans), and that was evident to me simply because I didn't know anything about them or their culture.
She wanted to create a podcast directed at the youth of their culture to educate them about issues like sexual reproduction which I thought was a great idea, because unlike a full-service radio station, she would only have to put up a few podcasts a week. This would allow her to do extensive research, and make it seem less like a talk show.
I thought the idea was extremely well thought out and creative, and definitely fit the category of a "niche" independent media!
